Ad performance fit for King

Best in class ads, for industry leading games

King games, owned by Activision Blizzard, are a leading mobile game brand – famous for IPs we know and love like Candy Crush, Bubble Witch and Pet Rescue. With hundreds of millions of players world wide, these games are always under threat from others in the market, and new and emerging IPs that could pop up at any moment to take the crown from King. Our role was to provide King with performance advertising that ultimatley drove people to download the game.

These ads would take place on a mix of media platforms as in game ads, pre roll and more. The ads them selves would need to grab attention and give audiences a quick take of what these games offer.

My role, overseeing the motion and creative teams, was to help ideate and produce ads at speed, with several in development at any one time against a high pressure calendar of production, in collaboration with King in Soho. We’d host King, talk about any ideas that internal teams had and propose our own. We would present to them topical, seasonal and cultural moments that our ads could reflect against, to incorporate into the ads through animation in 2 and 3D.

The overall appeal of the ads improved massively, as did the technical production value, making the ads much more impressive and interesting tow watch. This was a fun and intense role, that needed a right first time approach to everything from creative, through production and motion graphics. Our new processes and ad productions improve the working relationship with King, opening up new projects and productions, such as influencer gaming films and ads that took King to the next level.
