Magnus, an Ericsson 5G Trailblazer
A portrait of excellence
Ericsson are a world leader in 5G technology. Their Trailblazer programme highlights the incredible work done worldwide, by people who’ve developed innovative ways to explore the technologies potential. Their first film to highlight a prolific and recognised figure in the industry would capture a intimate portrait of the man behind the technology – a film that would inspire the audience through by coming to understand who they are, and how they got to be recognised by Ericsson, and their peers as a Trailblazer.
Shot on location in Sweden, featuring key locations that helped us bring the story to life, this is the story of Magnus Bjorkman – told as a portrait piece, capturing a sense of what inspires him, how he came to be fascinated by technology, and how he’s supporting the next generation of developers and technologists at his own school where he lives.
I proposed the treatment, creative and art direction, scripted a storyboard and gave direction as I questioned Magnus at his home. Ericsson feature this film as their hero film for the Trailblazer programme.
Throughout the shoot, I shot BTS and stills for use in social channels and articles created to support the launch of the film. I also created the set design and art direction for their 5G Talks series, shot on location at Ericsson HQ in Kista, Stockholm – filmed with 5G experts, and hosted by TV Presenter Angela Lamont.
