With over 8 million customer globally, Avois had a new proposition to take to partners for their loyalty program. With this new offering, other businesses can take advantage of this huge network of customers by linking their loyalty cards together, so customers can gain Avios points when the shop with an affiliated partner. This was a proposition, was deemed ‘magic’ – the magic of card linking, which is a simple, easy way to connect loyalty and retain customers.
To create awareness and drive new sign ups, this DM campaign had to stand out and grab attention. The premise? A digital magic trick that stopped c-suite in their tracks. The DM package itself contained a locked box with an insight deck of cards and an envelope inside. A bespoke url invite sent the recipient to an Avios website, where they could watch the magic trick unfold – to result in them picking an icon from the film.
The trick itself was performed by a reputable magician, who after a series of castings was the right person to deliver the magic trick. The trick eventually invited the recipient to open the box, where they would find the same card that the magician had determined and guessed. From there, they were sent to Avios to explore more and speak with customer relationship managers about this new card linking facility.
The campaign garnered 60+ new leads with a hugely successful open and interaction rate for a DM – leading to over a million pounds in new business revenue.
